Submit a Story
What did you do for WWMD?
Please send us your story and photographs to feature on the Web site and/or the annual Year in Review report!
Some Guidelines
- Compose your story in the third person as if you were writing a news story.
- Keep your story to 150-500 words in length.
- Submit your story in Microsoft Word format when possible.
- Make sure your photos are clear (at least 300 dpi preferred).
- Include the following statement with your story:
“[Your Name] grants WEF and IWA permission to edit and use the attached news story [and photos] on the World Water Monitoring Day Web site and other promotional materials.”
Questions Your Story Could Answer
- Where was the event held? (name of the waterbody and city)
- When was the event held?
- Who attended the event? (list the name of the school, community group, elected official(s), etc.)
- How many participants were involved?
- How many water samples were collected?
- How many water bodies were monitored?
- What conditions did you observe at the site?
- Why did you/your group select this site for monitoring?
- What feedback did you receive from the participants? Were there any particularly memorable quotes?
